Libations Too

I really miss the old Libations Too bar. It just isn‘t the same now that it is Cliff‘s. Someone needs to open up a nice bar like this in south Lincoln.

Just to make it clear to everyone, the 20 bottles of scotch that had to be dumped were acquired in the inventory purchased from the previous owners. Cliff‘s Martini Lounge is fun and relaxing neighborhood bar. We love meeting our friends there and huddling around their new fireplace.

FYI Libations Downtown is not under the same ownership as Libations too AND is still clean and is a great place to hang out. With the 31 flavors of martinis and an awesome scotch selection it‘s well worth the trip downton!

Some things I know for a fact about Libations Too/Cliffs South.
1. They had to dump out hundreds of dollars worth of scotch due to fruit flies inside the bottles.
2. The bathroom flooded into the bar, and they never cleaned the carpet.
3. Until today, they hadn‘t ran a credit card in two months. If you have been in this dump in the last two months check your bank, you might be shocked.

In one year, Bryan has turned this place into a dump, no amount of crappy shark water will smooth over that fact

I really miss Libations Too! Everyone who worked there was great. Cliff‘s Marini Lounge just isn‘t the same. Sure a couple of the old crew still works there, but it isn‘t the same. The old owners did an amazing job with all of their employees. Now it is hit or miss on service.

Drinks are good. Atmosphere is relaxing. Forgot something there once and the staff came in during off time to allow me to retrieve it.

The previous 5-star review tells you all you need to know; King Louis XIII is not even scotch, it is cognac. Don‘t know the difference? Didnt‘ think so. You are the dive crowd that the May 6th reviewer is talking about, and I agree with him fully, this place is not what it used to be. They lost me as a customer as well.

The previous review is absurd. I‘ve been going to Libations Too for several years and is one of my favorite bars in town. And like most people, I don‘t like change... so I was really nervous about the new ownership. But, I think L2, or Cliff‘s South as they call it now, is better than ever. I haven‘t met the new owner, but the new manager is a really nice guy and the rest of the staff are great. I think its highly idiotic to say this place is a dive bar... they have more scotch than most liquor stores and I haven‘t seen a $1500 bottle of King Louis XIII at any other bar in town. The previous reviewer couldn‘t be further from the truth. Libations Too / Cliff‘s Martini Lounge is excellent. If their new south location turns out anything like the one downtown, this place is going to be the new hotspot in town. The more places to get a Sharkwater the better!

Once upon a time Libations Too was my favorite bar in Lincoln. Mike and Holly were the owners. Then Nathan and Paul bought it and made it even better than before. Now some schmuck from Vegas has bought it and it is going down hill fast. He is turning the place into a cheap dive bar like the ones on and near O st. The atmosphere is gone the good booze is slowly being replaced by rot gut cheap brands, and the business is going to fold because he is alienating his base clientele. I walked in this evening and noticed where the high end scotch use to sit on the shelf was 2 bottles of southern comfort. I asked the bar tender if the scotch that was there was coming back and she said what was on the shelf now is what would be there from now on according to the manager. I promptly said you‘ve just lost a customer and walked out without ordering a thing.

The guy who made the review that the uppity staff looked down on you ... You may like the place now cause it is heading to a HOLE IN THE WALL status. So I give my once favorite bar in Lincoln ... possibly favorite bar of all time anywhere a big goose egg. It is a DIVE now so unless a dive bar is what you are looking for just go elsewhere or stay at home.

I love this bar! The people who work there are so nice and friendly. I like that it isn‘t crazy busy all the time and you can talk to people and the people around you are friendly and want to meet other people.

Meet some friends late Saturday evening (8/1/09). Very pleasant atmosphere. Lively mature crowd. Able to carry on a conversation. Extensive menu, no beer on tap though if you‘re a beer connoiseur like I am. Ample bottle selection. Owner was great and sincere to meet us. Staff was great!

This is a great little bar to have a drink at.

I‘ve been going here for a long time and really enjoy everything about L2. The staff is the best part of the place, they are really nice to get to know.

I travel for a living, and was staying in Lincoln. Found this bar by chance and had a great time. Chelsea was very nice and charming. The owner was busy putting up a Christmas Tree and everyone was having a great time giving him a hard time about where to put everything, and he made it all into a lot of fun. The people in the bar were very friendly even to a new face.

$2 wells on SATURDAY NIGHT...are you serious?

Great staff. MOlly will turn it to the XM Led Zeppelin channel if you ask nicely.

Convenient location away from madness of 14th and O. Easy parking. (And right next door to the strip club if your girl is drinking tequila.)

We stopped in to meet some friends for an FAC a little before 5, and they had a nice little crowd. Bartender was all over it, he took care of us and helped us find some new drinks to try out. He was fun, but professional at the same time. As they got busier, he still paid special attention to everyone. VERY Impressed. It probably isn‘t the busiest, craziest place on Friday afternoons, but it was a perfect place for us all to catch up and talk.

Stop in on a Wednesday night and talk to Jenn, she has a very geniune personality that you usually don‘t find in a bartender any more.

Love this place. Bartenders and wait staff are nice and easy to visit with. The regulars are fun and interesting people too. They make you feel welcome. I will go back again.

I‘d have to say that libations has the best looking shakers i‘ve seen in awhile.

Classy place to drink, I really like talking to the staff.

I‘ve never seen so many fun drinks, the bartender even custom made drinks to fit our moods. It made our sex in the city girls night a lot of fun.

Exciting atmosphere, great service and great drinks. I was in last week and enjoyed great scotch and fine wine. I also found a great cigar off of their list and enjoyed it in the spacious beer garden. Overall a fantastic place to enjoy good drinks with great service from great looking waitresses.

Was in last night (A Tuesday) couldn‘t believe how busy it was. Me and my girlfriends had a some tasty beverages and a lot of fun (Hi Pauli!)

Got an invite to their grand re opening, it was packed and it was a lot of fun. We had a blast trying a bunch of new drinks.

Was in Saturday night and had a great time. The owner was playing cocktail waitress since one of them had to go home sick, and he kept us entertained. My girlfriends and I had a lot of fun.

I‘ve been here several times and it is a great relaxing place to have a drink and talk with people.

We went to Libations for Valentine‘s day. It was nice an romantic. Bartender was friendly and service was good, but not obtrusive. We had a nice time before dinner.

Wow, no hope huh? I had never been to this bar before, but stopped in on a Friday. I was overwelmed with the selection of alcohol and drinks. I had a great conversation with both of the owners who seem to really know what they want their bar to be. If you are looking for a beer bust type of joint, this isn‘t your place. I love the relaxed atmosphere and the patrons were nice to talk to also.

We stopped into Libations Too last night and had a great time. Micki, the bartender, was really sweet and attentive. The atmosphere is really surprising for Lincoln.

I‘d have to agree with the other reviewer, that the quality of the staff has fallen off some since I first starting coming in. However, I was pleasantly surprised this weekend to find out that one of my favorite former Libations bartenders was back in action there. A group of us stopped in this weekend and were amazed at how busy it was and how much energy there was in the crowd. Then I saw a couple of my old favorites wokring and new what had happened. I have a feeling that service and knowledge is on its way up and I can‘t wait to go back.

This was one of the best places to hang out a few years ago. Quality of staff has fallen quite bit. Drinks are still of the best quality, but staff dosent seem to care how its served (ie Bartender poured $18.00 Scotch into a glass straight out of dishwasher, destroyed the drink). If they get some better help think this place will be back on top soon.
