The Watering Hole

Went to watering hole late hours and they treated us as if they didn‘t want us there. Was charged $15 for a pitcher of beer (was the one actually on sale). The girl was sweeping and was very disturbed when we would request anything because she was "busy". We live right down the street from Watering hole, and will never go back.

The food and service was better before the remodel. The employees have an attitude now that wasn‘t there before. The food now is still ok. The cooks are inconsistant seasoning the wings. Mild tastes like hot one time, hot tastes mild the next. The Hole has become proud of their food as well. In this case change didnt help the great little place it used to be.

I don‘t know what these other people are talking about. Best food. Don‘t expect it to be 5 star service. It‘s a dive bar people.

Service is alright foods good and the spike hair cook that worked monday was cute. Also best long island ever wich made up for the stale chips with our appetizer

Had the worst experience here! My food was cold after waiting a very long time to get it and my burger didnt even take up half the bun and was very dry. They were out of wings on a wednsday. The service was horriable. I asked to speak to the manager and a very rude waitress not even mine said there was none availiable. I will never go here again!

They have the BEST wings in town! YUM! I havent been in to see the new remodel yet but going to try to go in this weekend!

The service is usually bad, but now its HORRIBLE! The newly remodeled downtown location doesn‘t have seating for parties of 6 or more and it took us 2 hours to order and get our food. We had to personal go to the bar to order drinks because our waitress was nowhere to be found and she didn‘t care when she saw her entire section serving themselves going to the bar. In the 2 hours we sat waiting 3 different tables of people
sat down and then decided to leave because they never recieved service. One guy actually stood up and announced "I‘ve been here for 30 minutes and haven‘t even been asked for my drink order, still have my menu and have never seen my waitress!" Usually the service is bad but its absolutely horrible now. How will they make $ if people have to wait 2 hours to eat and can‘t order drinks?!

I love their wings and Philly‘s! I have had great service, but I don‘t like the remodel. Although it looks nice, I thought I was sitting in some hoity toity place!

I love seeing bars that self post good reviews for themselves. The remodel at least cleaned the place up, but now it just looks like Bisonwitches. The wings aren‘t as good as they used to be and the services has always sucked.

We had a wonderful night watching the huskers food was amazing the wings where by far the best in town and the staff there was great. our drinks never where empty and the staff was very helpful and always had a smile on their face. remodel was spectacular and quite comfortable with plenty of room. I will for sure be recommending the watering hole to all my friends and family.

Did you know a professor at a local college here in Lincoln was called a n-gg-r and other racist terms by their female head waitress. And to think, she got away with it. Do not eat there if you are a minority. This type of behavior should not be tolerated.

Awesome food. The atmosphere could be described as "dive bar" but in the best way possible. You don‘t go here for the service, you go for the food and great specials. If you consider the semi-surly waitstaff as part of the charm its that much more appreciable. Get the grilled hotwings. Amazing.

Terrible service...just terrible. 40 minute wait for lunch...just dont even bother going to this place, its not worth your time.

I agree the wings are good but the service on west A in lincoln is horrible. The last two times i ate there we had nachos. they sat on the shelf for 20minutes and were cold when we got them. then I got sick both times so I wont eat their nachos anymore. The last few times I been there the waitress walked by us 10 times to wait on 2 tables behind us. we just left the last time. Prob wont go back. it just isn‘t worth the frustration.

The wings are fairly good, but the service is horrible. I went there with a group and we asked the waitress before ordering anything if we could get separate checks. She agreed, but was a total bitch about it. Got terrible service the rest of the night. Literally the WORST service I have ever received at a restaurant. It was to the point where our group felt awkward. She automatically charged an 18% gratuity, which is pretty standard for groups, but she certainly didn‘t earn it. A few days after the trip I found that she had actually charged my card $20 over what I had signed the receipt for. Plus, the back of the restaurant smells like shit, seems like they might have a sewage drainage problem. If you enjoy paying someone to treat you like shit, I recommend this place.

Moved to Chicago 20 years ago and I still get a craving for these wings. Still haven‘t found ANY that come close...even in Chi town! Just don‘t forget that we call it "the Hole"! Fine by me as long as the food stays worth dreaming about and visiting for!

Best wings in Lincoln - hands down. I agree that the service isn‘t the best, but I‘ve never had an absolutely horrible experience there so who cares. The wings make up for any downfalls of the place anyway!

It‘s a Lincoln institution. I started going there and college and still go now I‘m pushing 40. A classic ‘dive‘ bar. Go to the one on West A if you‘re looking for something less ‘divey‘ or a place to take the young kids - sometimes the patrons get loud and salty in their language. You get a little of the downtown street crowd finding its way in there, but again...it‘s part of the environment.

Like the other person said, this ain‘t Grata, this isn‘t the high-profile hookup bar, this ain‘t the chill lounge. Go to Applebees if you are looking for that. This is a place to get great classic ‘bar and grill‘ food, drink and relax. Come as you are, with a group or by yourself...sorry for sounding like a commercial.

The service has been spotty in the past - think of what you‘re going to get and order for it, get on your drinks before they run out. Get in early on big specials nights. But of late I think it‘s improved a lot. I won‘t deny though they should keep up another person on the wait staff.

It‘s a bar, don‘t be afraid to be afraid to speak up (you can do it without being a d-bag), but I haven‘t felt the need to in quite a while.

The wings are the best, period. They‘ve got great burgers and the 25 cent tacos rock.

The food is awesome. I‘m reading the reviews about the service, and yeah, it sucks, but who cares. If you are looking for good service go to an Applebees or something. The grundgy atmoshpere is what makes this place fun.

The Watering Hole is the perfect place for an easy night out. No need to dress up, come as you are. The wings are awesome and the long islands will put you on the floor...in a good way. Local and perfect for a night out with the guys/girls or everyone! Don‘t expect the ritz, but do expect good prices, great food and a unique atmosphere........................

absolutely the worst service I have ever received. waitress was rude, messed up my order, no manager on duty. I would never recommend this place! You will leave irritated!!

I have eaten wings all around the world and I dare anyone to find a better hot wing. The atmosphere at both places are unique on to themselves and the people there are great. I read these other reviews and they make me laugh. I think maybe these people who claim their service was "terrible" should look inward and ask themselves was it really the service or was it the customer? I tell my friends and clients about this place and I even take pride in the fact that this place is in Lincoln. In fact I‘m getting hungry writing this and I‘m gonna go grab some wings now.

I have been there three times in the last 6 months and the wings were ok, but the service was TERRIBLE everytime. Need to hire staff that actually LIKES people.

All of you complainers are just little cry babies. Go find something else t o do with your time. I‘d be willing to bet that all of you will be back agian so why bother. Maybe you got bad service becuase your rude and they don‘t want you to come. Maybe you are the problem and not them!!!! idiots

You used to have some of the best wings in town until you started using the big steroid wings and throwing them into the hot oil frozen. It drops the oil temp down to warm and soaks them . yuck get some pride back and thaw them. Your killing us.

Good wing‘s.... terrible service...was threatened to be thrown out of there because some nag was smoking and I was bitching about it. Finally after three cigarettes they asked her to leave. I swore that I would never go back, but gave them another chance. I should have stuck to my word, the worst service I have ever had and I have ate in some real slums. I even ask for Adam the manager to give me a call and no such luck, never heard from him. It is to bad that they really don‘t care how they treat their patron‘s or even care what their patrons think.

Absolutely great. Wings are excellent nice place to watch a game.

After going to the Watering Hole for the last year the food is excellent but the service is the worst I have ever seen. When you call a order in you expect it to be ready when you get there...not 20 minutes later. My last experience made up my mind that I will never go there again. The waitress never came back to our table after giving us our food. Actually she left the restraunt because I overheard her talking to another employee saying that she had a meeting to go to. I wanted to just walk out and not even pay for the food but being that nice guy that I am I found another waitress to get me the bill. Some people really nice a reality check. Pure dissapointment for such good food.

Absolutely the best wings in town, be sure to try ‘em grilled. Yeah, it‘s not the best ‘bar‘, but that‘s not really it‘s goal. The patrons are cool, unless you‘re into that $4 for a bud light club atmosphere. If so, go to the Downtown. If you want good food, a variety of tap beers and don‘t want to get dressed-up for it, hit the Watering Hole.

Watering Hole in the Wall is more like what the name should be. Talk about gross!!!

Wings are great, but this place is so dirty that I have a hard time eating the food. Wish they would spend a little time cleaning the place up.

Great place to hang out, good music, no douchebags, cool people, and of course the best damn wings ever! Hard to say no to half-priced pitchers every thurs, fri, and sat from 9-close!

Horrible Bar are you nuts? If you ate at the hole you may have gotten food poisnining but the wings would still be GREAT!

Also love the wings. Not nearly as good with the new ownership but still some of Lincoln‘s Best. My problem is their service is absolutely horrible. On top of that the downtown location is pretty run down.

The grilled wings are the best wings I‘ve ever had! The guy that spent two days in the hospital must have eaten at the N Zone - those wings are nasty.

Great wings, horrible bar. I hate how the mens restroom is pretty much in the middle of everything.

Great Wings!!! The rest of the menue is your basic Bar food but it is good as well. GREAT drink specials. Penny pitchers are great. and their Long Island Iced Teas are yummy!! The only complaint I have are about their men‘s bathroom.
